Travelling from Leicester Square to Piccadilly Circus
Most first time visitors to London don't have a grasp of the physical geography. One of my revelations was to find that Leicester Square and Picadilly Circus tube stations are about 200 metres apart. Much quicker to walk than to take the tube!

Family Day out in Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew
Kew now has a section for young children called 'Climbers and Creepers,' where they can run in, out and around large botanically themed apparatus-it's free once adults have paid admission into Kew. Kew puts on art, craft and gardening activities for the children there too, although it is best to check exactly when they are scheduled for!

great mexican food
lovely mexican food at Wahaca in covent garden - it's cheap and really tastey. The MSC shimp salad is mv favorite. You can't book, and queues can be long. They have a waiting list so pop in, put your name down, then come back an hour or so later and your table will be ready.

The River is Fun
There are a number of river boats on the Thames - including the Thames Clipper which is a commuter service. Very comfortable and a great way to see London from another perspective

Getting around London
Save time and valuable resources by getting around London on public transport like other Londoners, with the special ‘pay-as-you-go’ Oyster card available for Overseas Visitors. They offer cheap fares, daily price-capping and the card doesn’t expire (so you are eligible for refunds of unused balances). It is easy to use and it gives you the ability to hop on and off the Tube or bus whenever and wherever you need to within London! Oyster Cards are widely available throughout London at: all standard Tube stations; London Overground Rail stations (including the Gatwick Express, which connects London and Gatwick Airport); Oyster Ticket Stops; National Express Coach ticket offices; the Eurostar; some Easyjet flights arriving in Luton, Stansted and Gatwick airports; and London Travel Information Centres.
