Hotels near Madame Tussauds
Madame Tussauds has been host to many millions of visitors since opening in London over 200 years ago. The history of the waxworks is rooted in Paris where Madame Tussaud learnt her trade around 1770. Madame Tussauds first came to the UK in the early 1800s as part of a travelling exhibition of well known public figures – both famous and infamous. The exhibition has been at its current location in London’s Marylebone since 1884.
Visitors to Madame Tussauds will come into contact with the world’s most famous faces from Sports, Royalty, Pop, Politics, Hollywood, Bollywood, Fashion along with Character Creations such as Spiderman and Shrek. In addition, there are a whole host of cultural and historical figures from Albert Einstein, Charles Dickens to Pablo Picasso and many more.
Madame Tussauds can get pretty busy at peak times throughout the year which include school holidays, public holidays and weekends. If you are planning on going during an expected peak then it is wise to buy tickets in advance to avoid spending time in a queue which can look quite daunting at times.
